What is the process for booking accommodations?

Send us an Availability Request using the available form on this website, or send us an email outlining your accommodation needs. If you choose to contact us by email, please be as specific as possible regarding the dates you will be travelling, the type of accommodation you are looking for, the number of people in your party, the number of beds/rooms you would like, and any additional requirements you may have.

You can expect a response from one of our accommodation agents by email or telephone within 24 hours. If the accommodation that you inquired about is not available for your chosen dates, you will be provided with alternative available options for your consideration. You will also receive an availability voucher which will be valid for 24 hours. You must confirm your booking by email, fax or telephone within this time period; otherwise SPQR Travel has the right to cancel the booking.

How do I pay?
To confirm your booking we will ask you to provide and confirm your credit card details using our online booking form, or by telephone or fax within 24 hours. For the mutual protection of both you, the customer, and SPQR, we do not accept credit card information by email. We will collect the required deposit up front and you must settle the remainder of your payment with the accommodation provider upon arrival at the accommodation.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and PayPal credit cards.

How do I know that my reservation is confirmed?
When you have completed the booking process, you will receive a confirmation containing your reservation details, your booking number and accommodation contact information. We advise you to print this confirmation message.
Will I have to pay a security deposit?
Each property owner will have specific requirements regarding security deposits. The details pertaining to the security deposit required for your particular booking will be contained within your confirmation email. Security deposits are generally payable in cash on arrival, if applicable. The security deposit will be returned to you at check-out if no damage or breakage has occurred during your stay.
What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation conditions and penalties vary from one accommodation to another and are indicated on each accommodation description page. Once we have confirmed your booking, any modification or cancellation made prior to the pre-arranged arrival date must be made through SPQR by email. Modification or cancellation requests will only be considered valid if received by us by email. If any modifications are made to your booking, it then becomes a new booking and your payment will be subject to the applicable cancellation conditions specified in your original booking confirmation notice. If you abandon the property, your rights to any eventual refund or rebate is forfeit. Penalty payments cannot be transferred to other periods or other accommodations. You may consider purchasing travel insurance as a precautionary measure to cover any eventual financial loss due to unforeseen circumstances which may cause you to cancel.

If I have booked an apartment, how do I get the keys?
Once you have paid your deposit and notified us of your arrival time, we will arrange for one of our staff or the property owner to meet you in order to provide you with the keys and see you into your apartment. You will also be provided with the telephone number of the person who will greet you, should you wish to change your appointment time or have any special requirements.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in and check-out times vary from one accommodation to another. Full details regarding the check-in and check-out times applicable to your chosen accommodation option will be specified in a confirmation email once your booking has been completed.
Is there a discount for children?
Babies and children under the age of four are free unless otherwise indicated.
How many people can we have in an accommodation?
When you make a booking with SPQR Travel, you must specify the number of people in your party. Should you wish to add more people to your party than specified at the time of booking, you must contact us in advance to enable us to adjust the contract.
